- Alvaro has a diverse background in education, scientific research, and youth advocacy. He is an environmental scientist who holds a Master’s from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego. Alvaro joined the Center for Environmental Health (CEH) team in January of 2015 as CEH’s inaugural Environmental Justice Inclusion Fellow. He currently serves as CEH’s Pollution Prevention Advocate and is transitioning from work in policy advocacy and public outreach on flame retardants to focus on programmatic and communications support to the Healthy Energy program’s work in California.
