Are you registered to vote? The NAACP will be registering voters on site at Green Festival. Look for the NAACP table near the box office.
Be sure to check out the Green Products Showcase beside the box office. These are some of the newest and coolest green products to be on the lookout for in the Green Marketplace. Peruse products and services from over 300 local and national green businesses and organizations!
On the Main Stage, catch keynotes: Amy Goodman, Dr. Benjamin Chavis, Ralph Nader, Benjamin Todd Jealous, Congressman Dennis Kucinich and Elizabeth Kucinich, John Perkins, Laura Flanders, Greg Palast, Medea Benjamin, Joe Trippi, Josh Silver, Leslie Durso and more, plus musical performances from Laura Theodore, “The Jazzy Vegetarian” and internationally known hip-hop activist, DJ Cavem Moetavation.
Head to the Green Kids' Zone and check out fun activities with the National Children's Museum and the National Aquarium! Don’t forget to take part in a fun kid's yoga class with YoKid, and join local author Robyn Ringgold for storytime.
Stop by the DIY Stage and "get your hands dirty" by participating in a variety of workshops, including: making your own cosmetics, mixing natural, nontoxic household cleaners, building vertical gardens and more!
Find your inner organic chef at the Cooking Stage! Learn how to make your own kombucha, farmer's market pierogies, raw pie, vegan mac n' cheese and more in demos occurring throughout the weekend.
Find out how to be a greener pet owner at the Green Pet Stage! Join Big Bad Woof to learn the best diet and health choices for our pets. Discover the TTouch for dogs with aggressive behaviors. Find out how the Washington Humane Society is serving DC's animal population. Last, but not least, don’t miss the Function and Fashion Show for 4-Paw Friends!
Get your fill of delicious local organic vegan and vegetarian cuisine in the Organic Food Court. Then, spend Happy Hour sampling organic beers and wines at the Organic Beer and Wine Garden in the Green Festival Community Square.
Stretch yourself to bliss in the Yoga and Movement Pavilion with a weekend of free classes from local DC yoga studios: DC Acro Yoga, Embrace DC, Epic Yoga, Golden Heart Yoga, Meridian Yoga, Sacred Source Yoga, Yoga District and Willow Street Yoga. Learn new wellness tips and techniques from the Alexander Technique Center, Dharma Punx, Elements Fitness & Wellness Center, Pekoe Acupuncture and Wellness, Sahara Dance and Urban Artistry.
Test drive a Ford electric and hybrid vehicle at Green Festival! Vehicles will be ready on the sidewalk for you to drive outside of the DC Convention Center on Saturday and Sunday. Be sure to stop by the Ford Pavilion and find out about Ford's commitment to sustainbility in their current and future vehicle lineup. Also, vote for your favorite local DC nonprofit to with the $5,000 Community Green Grant! The Community Green Grant will be awarded to one lucky local nonprofit on Sunday at 5pm in the Ford Pavilion.
