Sylvia Ventura is an accomplished business executive and a social entrepreneur. She specializes in early stage strategy, marketing and development. Sylvia is both an investor, and a skillful entrepreneur, having founded two agencies and a clean-tech venture that was recently acquired. Early in her career she worked as a marketing executive for pharmaceutical, and consumer health companies. She is the founder of One Block Off the Grid (1BOG), the nation’s first and largest group purchasing organization for residential solar energy. Sylvia is a French native and holds a BA in Business Administration from CNAM, Paris. She has spent the past two years as Executive-in-Residence with Hub Ventures where she advises on business modeling, evaluation, validation, brand development, positioning and strategy. She is an Advisor with several companies in the program. She currently serves as the Development Director for Hub Bay Area and SOCAP. She is also working on the Women Impact Project, an ambitious venture whose mission is to increase the number of female founders and investors in social enterprise.
