BioLighter inventor and patent-holder Joe Marlin has managed to merge his mechanical engineering background with his environmentalism. Working as an environmental activist just after graduating from Case Western Reserve University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, Joe then invested his mechanical expertise into the world of automotive repair and fleet maintenance, given his preference for a hands-on approach to engineering solutions. ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) master-certified in the repair of cars and trucks, as well as ASE alternative-fuels certified, he officially qualifies as an expert in both vehicular systems and biofuels. While his first position working with his BioLighter business partners Jolie Ginsburg and Brian Deninger was as Fleet Manager for Incredible Adventures in 2008, it was natural for his responsibilities to extend to his position as Station Master at Dogpatch Biofuels when it was acquired in May, 2010. He also facilitated, as a project leader, coordinating the move and merger of Incredible Adventures to the current location shared with Dogpatch Biofuels, a process that led to the inception of the BioLighter concept.
