Jamal Ali

Jamal Ali is a native of Birmingham, Alabama. He says many things we are currently doing—under the “green” umbrella, were commonplace years ago. His credits his father and his upbringing for his environmental passion which also helped him tremendously in writing his book, Black and Green: Black Insights for the Green Movement.


Ali has always taken an active role to better his community. and he views going green as a major way to continue in this effort. He is working to make sure the information flow and the benefits of going green, reach the Black community.


In addition to promoting his book, he works closely with the Chicago Public Schools and various Historical Black Colleges and Universities to get them focused on saving our planet.


He is married and lives in Chicago. He has two children who also live “green.”
