Get Hands-On with DIY Workshops

Want to learn to brew you own beverages? Join Greg Fischer of Chicago's Wild Blossom Meadery and Winery and Bev-Art Brewer & Winemaker Supply for two homebrewing workshops - one to make your own beer and the other to make your own mead! Head to "Homebrewing 101" at 2pm on Saturday, and "Making Mead, the Most Sustainable Wine on Earth" at 5pm on Sunday.

Engage in bicycle maintenance basics with Paul Fitzgerald of Working Bikes, Sunday at 4pm. Get ready to go over basic tuning, cycling safety, and what you can do to ensure smooth riding for you and your bike!

Help maintain a non-toxic household for your family by checking out Qae-Dah Muhammad of the Chicago Conservation Corps [C3], Saturday at 5pm, as she imparts techniques for creating non-chemical household cleaners that get the job done just as well!

Also, if you've ever wondered how Green Festival maintains such a high rate of resource recovery, now is your chance to find out! Take a behind-the-scenes tour of our greening operations, Sunday at 1pm, with Seven-Star Events CEO, Georgia Malki, and Green Festival's Greening Engineer, Joe Caristo.

This is just the beginning of the hands-on fun you will find all weekend at the DIY Stage!

Check out the full schedule and plan your workshops. Some require that you come with materials ready, so be prepared and take plenty of notes!
