Founded in 1977 by Dr. Annemarie Colbin, the Natural Gourmet Institute (NGI) is the leader in teaching health-supportive cooking as well as elucidating the relationship between food and health. NGI offers a comprehensive, mostly-vegetarian Chef's Training Program that teaches students the art of preparing beautiful, delicious health-supportive cuisine. NGI also offers cooking classes and lectures to the general public that teach health-supportive food preparation as well as various approaches to nutrition.
