Jesús Andrade is a first generation, U.S-Latino from California’s Central Valley. He completed his undergrad education at the California State University at Sacramento, where he served as student body president his final year and earned a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy-Applied Ethics & Law.
Before graduating from Cal State Sacramento, Jesús was awarded a Jesse M. Unruh Assembly Fellowship and spent the following year at the State Capitol working on public infrastructure, budget finance, and education policy. Soon after, Jesús went to work as a field organizer for the 2008 Obama Campaign.
As an organizer, Jesús assisted with the campaign’s Latino voter outreach strategy in southern Colorado. The invaluable experience taught Jesús about electoral campaigns and politics through the campaign’s unique organizing structure. Skills gained were further honed at the National Council of La Raza (NCLR) where Jesús worked as a statewide Field & Campaign Organizer in California. In this capacity, Jesús was tasked with fostering relationships with affiliated organizations to build a stronger NCLR presence at the state and local level. Further initiatives included NCLR’s national immigration and healthcare reform campaigns, as well as the Boycott Arizona campaign.
Jesús recently transitioned to the Community Coalition – a South LA-based organizing institution founded by Representative Karen Bass. His organizing portfolio consists of leading the organizing work around the Coalition’s Food Apartheid campaign and coordinating their civic engagement efforts on reforming tax and fiscal policy at the state level.
Jesús Andrade is married with three sons, and lives in South Los Angeles.

Look for this label on eggs, dairy and meat products.
Non-profit dedicated to eliminating animal suffering.
Horses brutally butchered for sale abroad. Dogs and cats stolen for experimentation. Wildlife caught in brutal traps. Farm animals confined in coffin-like crates. Majestic whales slaughtered at sea. The Animal Welfare Institute (AWI) works around the world and on Capitol Hill to address these issues and other forms of animal suffering. Founded in 1951, our mission is to eliminate pain and fear inflicted on animals by humans.
